The heart of this film is best described through the couple’s own words. They spoke about how “having both Shawn and Paige attend our wedding put me at ease as a Bride who was pretty stressed leading up to the day,” and how that calm, confident presence allowed them to settle into the experience rather than rush through it. What stayed with them most was the way he helped shape the emotional rhythm of the day “your expertise and advice really helped us form our day… so we could stay present for each other and for our guests.”

Their response to the finished film reflects what so many couples discover when working with a Gulf Island wedding videographer who values authenticity over performance. They said they’d watched their film “close to 50 times,” noticing new details with every viewing, and shared how “pictures are great, but I don’t constantly look at them… you really encompassed our whole day start to finish.” Even guests who couldn’t attend felt connected to the celebration “they can still feel like they were there in some way.”

What stood out most was the emotional truth captured on camera. The couple wrote, “you stole us away just the two of us throughout the day to really soak it all in… it goes by way too fast,” and spoke about how naturally he blended into the crowd, allowing them to forget the camera entirely: “they have an ability to blend in and capture those timeless memories.”

As part of Folklore Weddings, Shawn he offers videography across all of the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island, with full-day coverage, elopements, and multi-day storytelling that honours the landscape, community, and relationships at the heart of each wedding. His films aren’t staged productions, they’re lived-in stories that couples return to for years, and often generations, to come.
