My name is Stephanie Artuso (she/her) a Mother, Artist & Photographer living on Gabriola Island, the unceded territory of the snuneymuxw First Nation. My artistic calling has always pulled me towards the expression of the human experience and our relationships to each other. I feel that photography is such an incredible medium for capturing connection. A subject's connection to themself, to their work, to their spaces and to their loved ones.
As a photographer I am always looking at the details. What does one surround themselves with that tells the story of who they are. I am especially drawn to the in between moments, the punchline, the movement. I want a photograph to be a time capsule, when you look at it you are transported.
I am in my second year of capturing weddings and feel very honoured to be able to do this work. As a wedding photographer I am documenting your day in detail. Every item you have chosen from the dress to the food, the special people you are sharing this event with as well as the important events that take place.
I am grateful for the chance and opportunity to work alongside the other Artists of the Folklore Wedding company. This is an incredibly talented collection of individuals who have the ability to offer their unique perspectives as well as working as a team to deliver high quality multimedia images and videos (time capsules) of this extraordinary day in a couples life.
