This rentals guide also connects naturally with our Salt Spring Island wedding curation and wedding planning services. If you are working with Folklore, our planning team can help you choose rentals that fit your venue, guest count, and overall vision, coordinate delivery and pickup details, and bring everything together with the rest of your vendor team so setup feels smooth and organized.
Many of the rentals listed here do more than make your celebration beautiful, they give back to the community. All Folklore-owned rental items are rented out to raise funds for IWAV, Islanders Working Against Violence, a Salt Spring Island based organization providing anti-violence services and housing across the Southern Gulf Islands. Their work includes a 24/7 crisis line, a transition house, outreach and counselling, and support programs for kids and survivors of sexual assault. 100% of funds raised after expenses go directly to IWAV.
Some items are also offered by local organizations fundraising for their own work, like the Man Shed, who are handcrafting our wooden farm tables and may have pieces available to support their builds.

Items listed under Folklore Weddings as the renter are available directly through us. Reach out to sydney@folkloreweddings.com to check availability, ask questions, and arrange pickup or drop-off.
What are the other listings on this page? +
Some items are listed by other rental companies or individuals on Salt Spring Island. These are community listings, included here to make it easier for couples to find what's available in one place. Folklore does not manage, coordinate, or take responsibility for rentals outside of our own inventory. All inquiries and arrangements for those items are handled directly between you and the individual renter.
What if I have a poor experience with one of the listed rentals? +
Please reach out and let us know. While we aren't able to mediate third-party rental transactions, your feedback helps us decide what stays on this page. We want this to be a resource couples can trust.
Can I list my rental items here? +

I'm working with Folklore on my wedding. Can you help with rentals? +
If you're a planning client, yes. We can help you identify which rentals fit your venue and vision, coordinate logistics with third-party renters, and make sure everything lands where it needs to on the day.
Do you deliver, or is pickup required? +
That depends on the renter. For Folklore items, we're happy to discuss delivery within a reasonable distance. For community listings, check directly with the individual renter, as arrangements will vary.
How far in advance should I book rentals? +
As early as you can, especially for summer dates. Salt Spring is a small island and inventory is limited. Reaching out three to six months ahead gives you the best chance of securing what you want.
What if an item gets damaged? +
Most Folklore rentals include a damage deposit, noted in each listing. For third-party rentals, damage policies are set by the individual renter and should be confirmed before you book.
