Highway 4 is the only road in, so it’s smart to build buffer time into your schedule. Road incidents, weather, and seasonal construction can affect travel times, and winter tire requirements apply on Hwy 4 from October 1 to March 31.
For a micro wedding or elopement, many couples choose one “home base” where everyone can land and decompress, either in Tofino (more restaurants and surf-town energy) or Ucluelet (slower pace, great trails, often a little quieter).
