A Galiano Island wedding holds a certain kind of magic. The ocean air, soft forest light, and a sense of closeness shape the entire celebration. For this beautiful weekend at the Galiano Inn and Spa, there was planning support from Allie Watters of Across The Watters. Stasia Garroway of Folklore Wedding Company photographed a wedding built on joy, history, and connection.

“I had the delightful experience of having Stasia document our wedding on Galiano Island this last August. It felt like kismet that we chose her, drawn to her beautiful portraits that capture pure joy and that perfect island light. Even more special, we realized that she had photographed a family wedding nearly 10 years before on the same island… This was the sign that we had made the right decision, and we were in the best hands.”

That sense of alignment carried throughout the weekend. With florals by Gossip Floral , hair and makeup by Save the Date Beauty, and a stunning gown by Jenny Yoo, Stasia stepped into a day that reflected the relaxed elegance of a Galiano Island wedding. She approached it with the calm, warm presence she’s known for.

“Stasia was immediately easy to talk to and was readily available to schedule meetings to discuss pricing, hours, and style of photos… We had her photograph both our legal ceremony and our wedding day. The photos were so beautiful and special. We also received them a month after our wedding.”

Guest connections were at the heart of this celebration.

“What struck me most when I looked through the photos were the number of pictures of our guests… She truly captured the most beautiful and intimate moments of our weekend.”

And in the end, what stayed with the couple was not only the imagery, but the experience.

“It felt as though someone close to me photographed our wedding and I felt so completely at ease with her.”

A perfect reflection of what a Galiano Island wedding can be.
