There was something deeply full-circle about photographing Devin and Alicia’s wedding in Vancouver. It’s not just where their story unfolded, but also where so much of mine began. Returning to my old stomping grounds brought a flood of memories, familiar streets, familiar laughter, and this day quickly became more than a wedding to capture. It was a reunion.
Throughout the day, I found myself surrounded by friends I hadn’t seen in years, people who’ve been part of my own story as much as the couple’s. There was an ease in the room, the kind that comes from shared history and genuine connection. Every hug, every toast, every small in-between moment felt charged with that sense of return, of coming home to something that once was and still is.
You can feel that familiarity in these images: the way old friends fall back into step, the comfort of long-standing bonds, and the joy of witnessing two people begin their next chapter surrounded by those who’ve known them through every one before. This one wasn’t just about documenting a wedding, it was about being part of a moment that stitched together past and present in the most beautiful way.
